Group Programs

We offer a range of evidence-based group programs, facilitated by one or more therapists.  Groups range from 4 – 8 children.  Groups are delivered either at CTS or in community settings.  Each term, programs are offered based on the needs/priorities of children and families. 

Babies & Toddlers

  • Engage. Play. Learn. Playgroup.

    A fun small group for toddlers to learn sharing, turn taking, and interaction skills. Children build connections with peers and families while targeting motor, play, social, and communication goals in a supportive environment.

    Age: 1-3 years

Pre-School

  • Kids Gym

    Children develop motor, social, and communication skills while building connections in a sensory gym setting. Activities prepare children for playgrounds, play centres, and kindergarten, with individualised goals and plenty of fun in a supportive small group.

    Age: 3-4 years

    Duration: Thursdays, 9.30 - 11am x 8 weeks

  • Talk and Play

    Children strengthen language, confidence, and social communication. Build vocabulary, follow routines, use longer sentences and improve listening. Supports turn-taking, cooperative play, emotional awareness, independence in routines and school-readiness skills.

    Age: Kinder

    Therapists: Key Worker, Speech Pathologist

    Duration: Mondays 1-2:30pm for 6 weeks

  • Prepping for Prep

    This school readiness program builds confidence and independence. Children practise following schedules, completing tasks, moving between spaces, organising belongings, asking for help, and basic emotional regulation. Each child receives an individualised report and About Me profile to share with school.

Kinder & Early Primary

  • Resilience Builders

    A group for early primary-aged children, supporting understanding, expression and management of worries.

    Through explicit teaching and engaging activities in a small and supportive group, children develop practical strategies for recognising anxious feelings, building confidence, strengthening coping skills and navigating everyday challenges.

    Age: Early Primary

  • We Thinkers - Social Problem Solvers

    Supporting children in navigating more complex social interactions with confidence and flexibility. This program is well-suited for children who benefit from explicit teaching of social expectations, emotional regulation, and problem-solving in everyday settings.

    Age: Kinder and Early Primary

  • Making and Keeping Friends

    This program is designed to support connection, friendship and belonging.

    Through explicit teaching, guided activities and structured peer practice across each session, children build confidence in starting friendships, understanding social cues, maintaining connections and navigating everyday social experiences.

    Age: Early Primary

  • Social Detectives

    Through interactive games, group discussions, and real-life practice, participants will become “Social Detectives” who can better understand their own thoughts and feelings-and those of others.

  • We Thinkers - Social Explorers

    A neuro-affirming program helping young children learn early social concepts through storybooks, visuals and group activities. It teaches five core skills and supports perspective-taking, self-awareness, and understanding social expectations in kinder, early primary and community settings.

School Aged

  • Getting Ready for High School

    A transition program for Year 6 students to support the transition from primary to secondary school by explicitly teaching practical and social-emotional skills in a respectful, strengths-based way.

    Age: Grade 6 in 2026 (Year 7 in 2027)

    Therapists: Clinical Psychologist, Speech Pathologist

    Location: CTS

    Duration: Mondays in Terms 3 and 4
    4 - 6pm x 8 weeks per term

  • Puberty Plus

    A group for young people of all genders aged 8 and above with autism, neurodivergence or disability to better understand and manage puberty.

    Topics include your body, hygiene, menstruation, big feelings, friends & peer pressure, gender stereotypes and confidence.

    Age: 8-12 years

  • Get Grit - Part 1

    Get GRIT is an evidence-based, neuroaffirming program that supports children to build practical strategies for managing emotions, navigating social situations, and handling everyday challenges with greater confidence and persistence.

    Age: Mid Primary

    Duration: Wednesdays in Term 3
    9am to 11am x 8 weeks

  • Social Stencil - Primary aged and Teens

    A social Emotional Neuro-affirming program that teaches practical social concepts, skills and strategies in fun, curious ways. The program supports young people in understanding emotions, build peer relationships and manage conflict independently.

    Age: Primary aged and Teens

    Duration: Primary group will run on Tuesdays from 2pm to 4pm x 8 weeks

    Teens group will run on Tuesdays from 4pm to 6pm x 8 weeks

  • Story Champs

    Discover the power of storytelling! This engaging program helps children build oral narrative skills through fund, interactive sessions. They learn story structure, sequencing, and key vocabulary boosting reading comprehension, writing, verbal memory and confidence across many learning areas.

    Age: Early and Mid-Primary

    Duration: Wednesdays in Term 3
    2pm to 4pm x 8 weeks

  • Kids in the Kitchen

    This engaging program uses hands-on cooking activities to build practical life skills in a fun and supportive environment.

    We will focus on:

    • Independence in daily living skills

    • Communication, social interaction, and teamwork

    • Following instructions, planning, and problem-solving

    • Fine motor skills and coordination

    • Confidence with food exploration and sensory experiences

    Age: Grade 4 to Year 7

  • Friendship Builders

    Supporting authentic connection, self-understanding and confidence in social situations.

    A social learning program for upper primary-aged children. Through explicit teaching, collaborative activities and structured practice with peers, participants develop skills for friendship, communication, perspective-taking and navigating social challenges.

    Age: Grades 4-6

    Duration: Tuesdays in Term 3
    9am to 11am x 8 weeks

  • Riding on Two Wheels

    A group program of bike riding skills designed for children to learn to ride on 2 wheels. Facilitated by a physiotherapist, fun and engaging on and off bike activities progress at each child’s pace to build confidence. Parents will be hands on to assist their child during the sessions.

     Age: All ages

  • All Wheels Welcome

    Group program for children who are pedalling a bike with or without training wheels or a trike. Fitness, motivating environment, with organised and engaging activities. Develop confidence and bike riding skills. Riding your way!

  • Fitness and Fun

    Helping primary-aged children build confidence and enjoyment in movement through activities that strengthen balance, ball skills, and gross motor abilities. The program also supports social interaction and physical competence, offering a fund, encouraging environment where children can practice skills and connect with peers.

  • Social Sevens

    A small group for Year 7 students to connect and share experiences of their transition to high school. Together, the group members celebrate individual successes and identify areas for ongoing learning. Students will problem-solve social and learning challenges, building strategies to more confidently navigate the complexities of secondary school.

  • Advanced Storytelling

    Enter the world of advanced storytelling! This program is designed for middle - upper primary children who are ready to build on their knowledge of story structure and vocabulary. Interactive sessions focus on oral narrative skills, with benefits across multiple areas including reading comprehension, written narratives and social interactions.

  • Consent and Healthy Relationships

    A program to support teens to discuss key concepts and strategies to develop and maintain respectful relationships with others. The includes discussions about friendships, dating, consent, and personal boundaries. Group members will learn and practice strategies to enhance personal safety.

  • Social Solutions

    This interactive program for school-aged children uses the “Lets Solve It Social Thinking” approach to build problem-solving, communication and friendship skills.

  • Signal Superstars

    A program for school-aged children that builds interoceptive awareness through fun, experiment-based activities. It helps participants understand internal signals like hunger and emotions, practice response strategies, and develop social confidence in a supportive group setting.
